vietnam

max and i have just returned from a month long trip to vietnam with a whole crew of incredible people. it's been so amazing to have a fresh set of things to photograph. this was the first usable shot i took over there, in hanoi vietnam, and i promise more to come.
these ladies just ride their bicycles around the city amongst the cars and thousands of mopeds. i wonder who buys their wares.
this shot reminds me of the best of hanoi really.

finally, after constant time in spares and lunchtimes working on my folio work.
It has taken so much time, but hopefully worth it.
I think I like my photography folio better than my art folio,
But I feel my artwork is more achieving than my Photos.
Maybe they balance each other out in that case.

my acrylic paint trial is equivalent to finger painting in kindergarden.
that trial has been such a waste of my time!

sunday morning drive

this is an old old photo, but i wanted it on here because it's one of my favourite shots i've taken. i find it really soothing to look at. i think it just conveys exactly how that morning felt. xx

it's been far too long. but i took this photograph of some beautiful girls i know, because we've been learning to skateboard, and the light was really nice.

paint trial #3

I have been trialing some sort of impressionism.

It is not supposed to be good, or real, or detailed.

I dont even know what i think of it....

Shall see how this turns out on a canvas I guess.

p.s: its not really finished.. i planned on putting more detail into the buildings but i couldnt be bothered doing that, so i'll finish it at a later date haha.

I did this when camping over summer, i attempted to copy a photo which was on the cover of the book i was reading at the time.

This is some biro drawing, and when i sprayed fixative on it it did this weirdly cool blurring effect.


So i copied a photo, and tried to do the whole stencil thing, then i tried to edit it and fill in the black. And because i dont know how to really do this, it turned out looking a bit different. so i put both up.

A drawing copied from a photo. i tried the stencil style again. Through my lack of photoshop skills, i gave it this weird effect when trying to edit it after i scanned it in haha.

okay there you go, i posted.

So as my exploration for my new photography assignment has now started, and with nothing being posted in forever!!!, i thought i shall share my amazing find! I have been working with as many diferent film types as possible latley to gain knowledge of different films and which one i will most likely end up using for my assignment. The film i'm going to use from here on in (until i get bored of it and get onto somthing else) is Agfa Optima 200 ISO (people wil argue u can't get it anymore, but "if you seek, you will find"). Amazing. Even more Amazing when cross processed!!! I took this photo (above) wondering around on a tuesday afternoon a few weeks ago. I got around to cross processing it a day or two ago, and i am now in love!

I still haven't told Anna of my secret operation i had going on. I was excited, but i didn't want to say anything, just incase it when up the shit :)

So you better like it cause it took me forever to do!!!!!!! :) :)

On another note, i'm off to Darwin in exactly a week for a week and then to Bali for two weeks, should be amazing!! so excited!

i went to the abbottsford convent to take photos for our architecture assignment.

ended up doing a sort of 'doors' series of shots. i liked that they had a bit of a colour scheme to them and were all really nicely linked. x
